Kau Jong (Raymond Lam) and Tzi Ling (Ron Ng) are orphans who wants to learn martial arts. On their way to meet their master, they become embroiled in a fight between a woman who wants an amulet called "Cheong Sung Keut" back from an old man, who turns out to be their master.
Suh Dong (Jo Hyun Jae), an illegitimate son of the Baekche emperor, is helped by Princess Sonhwa (Lee Bo Young), the third daughter of the Silla emperor, to become the king of Baekche against all odds.
One day the world seems normal, then the next second, the world as we know it is ... gone?
For hundreds of years, the same group of children have been seen numerous times in photographs and paintings. They seem to not have aged all this time and act more like adults.
One day an orphan, Helga, escapes from her orphanage and passes by Toma, a talented young man who helps her escape by hiding her at his house. Though she is caught, he becomes curious and tries to find out more. He is shown some strange drawings done by Helga since she was young: those of the fantastic children. Does she know who they are and is Helga in any way related to them?
Our main character is Ichimura Tetsunosuke, an energetic, short, and very childlike 15 year old. He and his older brother Tatsu have to fend for themselves after losing their parents from the malicious hands of a band of rebels.
They joined the Shinsengumi team supposedly as manual labor workers, but Tetsu has another plan. He wants to learn the art of samurai to get revenge for his parent’s death.
