During the medieval empire of Saiunkoku, there lived Shuurei Kou, descendant of a noble family that has become poor. She currently works as a teacher in the temple school and does other odd jobs to make ends meet. But her ultimate goal is to pass the bar exam and work for the people of Saiunkoku.
